Slowly curling through The City of Monroe, Bayou DeSiard is a landmark of sorts, a quintessential Louisiana bayou. Home to the nationally acclaimed ULM waterski team it also serves as a refuge to many species of fish and birdlife.

Along the banks of the bayou, you will find some of Monroe’s most desirable properties. Gorgeous homes, decks, and boat docks frame the bayou’s natural beauty. The Bayou DeSiard Country Club, a landmark in Monroe since 1948, is also found on this bayou.

Bayou DeSiard offers a variety of activities. One of the area’s best-kept secrets, the bayou offers great fishing spots and was home to the 2011 Bassmaster Junior World Championship fishing tournament. Other activities include all manner of water sports and of course, the annual Bayou DeSiard Dragon Boat Festival.
